Bus Timetable (with effect from 31 July 2011)

The bus service running between Durham Bus Station and East Hedleyhope, via Esh, is operated by SB Travel. Rubbish and Recycling Collections

Rubbish and recycling is collected on alternate weeks. The collection day in Esh is Friday; please put your bins/ box out for 7am on collection day. Details of which collection takes place on which date can be found on the calendar on this site. **items should be loose and not bagged. 



Garden Waste Collections

Garden waste is collected on alternate Fridays, starting on 18th March 2016 and running until 28th October 2016. Please put garden waste directly into your garden waste (brown) bin; do not use plastic bags. Bins should be put out at 7am on the morning of collection - waste left next to the bins will not be collected.

Citizens Advice Bureau


The Citizens' Advice Bureau provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. Whether it's a question about housing, income support, benefits, tax credits, debts, or relationships with family, the CAB can help to resolve the problem. 

The most local Bureau to Esh is in Langley Park, at the Harry Guildford Centre. They run drop-in sessions on the second Wednesday of the month from 10am-11am (no appointment necessary). For an online guide to how the CAB can help, click here.
